| What do we aim to do?
The service offers one-to-one support to people who have experienced mental health difficulties to assist them to return to voluntary or paid work. The support we offer is individually tailored to suit a person’s requirements.
How do we do this?
We have initial interviews with clients to determine their skills and talents and then work together with them to develop an action plan. Vocational advice can be provided or sourced and any training requirements highlighted and facilitated.
The support worker is involved with a network of providers to build links with employers and source employment opportunities. When a client feels ready to apply for work he/she is supported through the application and interview process. This may include help with forms, C.V. writing, interview and presentation techniques.
On going support will be given to the client in their employment including liaison with their employer as required.
Who is it for?
The service is open to adults in Buckinghamshire who experience, or have experienced, mental distress. They will be at a point in their lives where they can begin to seek employment and are willing to work together with our worker to do so. People can self-refer or be referred by their GP or care worker.
